Lots of new projects on the horizon...well, in the stores on the horizon because I've had them done and sitting on my computer for ages, but haven't been able to talk about them or show them until now. Craig Yoe invited me to be a part of his new art book due out this spring which is a tribute to Dan DeCarlo and his character 'Jetta of the 21st Century.'
Here's the description from Amazon.com:
"Dan DeCarlo's futuristic, curvy teenage girl, Jetta, zoomed through the future a full decade before Judy Jetson. In the 1950s, the fan-favorite artist, beloved for his portrayals of Betty and Veronica, Josie, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, delineated the madcap adventures of Jetta, "Teen-Age Sweetheart of the 21st Century," with obvious delight. The comics, collected for the first time in their entirety and in living color will be accompanied by a revealing introduction by Craig Yoe who interviewed DeCarlo about these timeless treasures. There's also a bevy of rare, unpublished, original art and photographs, plus Jetta pin-ups by top comic book artists and Hollywood animators. "
So there you go...according to Amazon, I'm now one of the 'top comic book artists.' Hahaha! But seriously, this was an extremely cool project to be a part of, and to be included in the same pages as Dan DeCarlo (Archie comics), Dean Yeagle (Playboy), and Bruce Timm (Batman The Animated Series) was an incredible honour.
Speaking of Dean Yeagle, 5finity invited me to be a part of their new series of trading cards celebrating Dean's great pinup character 'Mandy.' I did a series of sketch cards for them which will be randomly placed in the main packages of cards. If you get one, let me know! :)
And finally, I was commissioned by Silverback Productions to design a poster/cover to their latest PC game 'Mr. Jones' Graveyard Shift' which is available for download/purchase now so be sure to check it out (as well as the artwork for it in my Illustrations gallery).

If you have some artwork that's just dying to have some colour added to it, I'm also available to color it for you.
Pinup Image- no background or minimal design $80
Full Cover - full background $150
Images are to be sent as 300dpi (minimum) greyscale tiffs or jpegs and when the colors are finished, I'll provide you with a link to download the hi-resolution copy of your image.
All payments are to be made by Paypal...unfortunately, I've had to change my old policy of no payment upfront because of a few bad apples, so now payment must be made upfront. As you can see from the amount of commission work I do, I've proven that I'm reliable about getting the work done. Once you place the order, I'll then sketch out a design for your image and send you a low-res jpeg of it for your approval. I'll then move on to the colouring stage and when it's ready, I'll send you a jpeg of the fully coloured image and you can then suggest any changes to the colours. When everything is cool, I'll then send you the hi-res copy.
Of course, $50 sketches are a bit different. I'll send you a jpeg of the image when it's ready and I'll mail out the sketch at the same time.

See that 'Wonderland' image to the right of this column? Well if you like it, or my work in general, and would like to own a poster-sized (18.5 x 29 inches), limited edition, signed and numbered copy of it, well wait no more! This is a limited run of 200 copies and I'll be selling them for $35 US each. As a special bonus, I'll include a free 8.5 x 11 inch sketch to the first 10 orders, and to 10 randomly drawn orders after that. As you probably already know, but I'll reiterate anyway, this is a limited run of this print and it won't be made available to buy after this run is ended.
To place an order, please contact me at dominic@dominicmarco.com and I'll send you the payment details.

The website is almost finished...FINALLY!! It's been a touch and go operation, trying to get this done, but I think the hard work is going to pay off and I'll actually have a site that I can look at and NOT think, "Hmmm, I should change that part because I'm bored with it now." |
